Thursday General Session 1B - Care Management Opportunities Available to RHCs

This session will cover the rapid expansion of Medicare care management reimbursement opportunities available for RHCs, including Chronic Care Management, Remote Patient Monitoring, Community Health Integration and more. Participants will feel prepared to evaluate many clinical, operational, and financial considerations of RHC care management programs, whether they are brand new to the space or interested in expanding their efforts!

 

SESSION OBJECTIVES:

The participants will be able to:

  • Understand the various Medicare care management reimbursement opportunities available for Rural Health Clinics (RHCs), including Chronic Care Management (CCM), Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM), Community Health Integration, and others.
  • Get an inside look at how care management can help RHCs be more efficient, effective, and financially sustainable.
  • Learn how to implement care management programs in RHCs, including patient engagement strategies, care coordination techniques, and health outcomes measurement.
  • Explore operational aspects of RHC care management programs, including staffing requirements, workflow integration, technology solutions, and regulatory compliance.

Sarah Hohman

Sarah is the Director of Government Affairs for the National
Association of Rural Health Clinics (NARHC). She leads both regulatory
and legislative federal policy efforts for the organization and provides
direct technical assistance and education to RHCs on COVID-19
allocations and other programs. Sarah advocates for reimbursement
policies that incentivize and support rural primary care and other
health services. Prior to joining NARHC, Sarah worked for the
Pennsylvania State Office of Rural Health. She earned her BS in Health
Policy and Administration from Penn State University and her Master
of Public Health from the Penn State College of Medicine. Sarah
resides in Alexandria, Virginia.

Thursday General Session 2B - Washington, D.C. Updates

This session will cover the latest health policy updates and trends pertaining to the Rural Health Clinic program and day-to-day operations. From regulatory to legislative updates, this is a vitally important session for RHC attendees seeking the latest information and opportunities to be involved in federal advocacy. This session will cover the latest Medicare policy regarding telehealth and price transparency policy applicable to RHCs.

 

SESSION OBJECTIVES:

The participants will be able to:

  • Stay informed about the latest health policy updates and trends relevant to the Rural Health Clinic (RHC) program, including regulatory changes and legislative developments. 
  • Understand the implications of recent regulatory updates on day-to-day operations of RHCs, including changes in reimbursement policies, quality reporting requirements, and compliance standards. 
  • Gain insights into legislative updates affecting RHCs, including pending bills, advocacy efforts, and opportunities for RHC participation in federal policymaking. 
  • Explore the latest Medicare policy updates related to telehealth services and understand how these changes may impact RHCs in terms of service delivery, patient access, and reimbursement.
