WHY JOIN IOWA HEALTHCARE LEADERS ASSOCIATION?

Management concerns in the medical office are a day-in and day-out happening, and with compliance concerns and continued changes in insurance reimbursement, the need for support becomes even greater.

The Iowa Healthcare Leaders Association (IHLA) is a non-profit organization of over 400 members dedicated to quality health care management. IHLA assists the members to develop effective and efficient practices, thus enhancing the provision of quality health care services within Iowa.

We strive to meet the needs of the member managers, both new and experienced and from both the larger and smaller group practices, though the express purposes of the organization are to:

  • promote the professional growth, development and visibility of the medical group manager
  • provide targeted educational opportunities to members of the organization
  • provide opportunities for members to share and disseminate information of mutual interest
  • maintain an active liaison with other key public and private organizations that affect the management, funding, and delivery of quality health care services

IHLA assembles twice yearly. Registration fees for these meetings are reasonable and are used to offset the cost of meals and meeting rooms. IHLA works closely with the Iowa Medical Society, Wellmark, Medicare, Medicaid, the MCO Payers and the state Legislature. We feel this active role is much more effective than each manager attempting to be heard on an individual basis.

There is also a strong social component to IHLA. The personal and professional relationships developed through the organization have led to invaluable interaction on a regular basis between members.

If you have any questions regarding the IHLA, please feel free to email the IHLA Executive Director at:  director@iahealthcareleaders.org
