General Session - Leveraging IT Governance to Elevate Healthcare Leadership
Achieving everyday excellence requires healthcare leaders to move
beyond reactive troubleshooting and into strategic IT governance. This session introduces a high-level framework to align technology with organizational mission. IHLA attendees will learn to lead with clarity, ensuring their infrastructure supports clinical excellence, protects patient data, and empowers high-performing teams.
SESSION OBJECTIVES:
The participants will be able to:
- Construct a strategic roadmap for everyday excellence by
implementing a governance framework that bridges the gap
between executive leadership and technical operations. - Evaluate organizational performance through the lens of & "The Shield" framework to identify and eliminate the systemic IT inefficiencies that hinder clinical and operational quality.
- Transform the perception of IT from a cost center to a
strategic operating partner, empowering leadership to make
data-driven decisions that enhance patient care and
community trust.

James Bowen is the owner and President of Five Nines Technology
Group, the largest IT services company headquartered in Nebraska. James founded Five Nines in 2006 and the company quickly grew to
landing on the INC 500 list of the fastest growing private companies in the United States from which it has continued to make the INC 5000 list for eight continuous years. Five Nines recently opened its fourth location in Nebraska. James graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan in 2000 in Computer Science and earned his Master of Business Administration – Executive in 2013 from the University of Nebraska. James is an adjunct professor for the Executive MBA program at UNO and serves on the Board of Directors of several institutions, including Mosaic, The Madonna Foundation, and The Lincoln Children’s Zoo.
